How to make a Bodywrap
4 Wrap Recipes and bonus recipes too

Most of the supplies can be found at Healthfood stores, (herbs & Essential
Oils, seaweeds, dulse), or,  The clays I have gotten from Sabia, on the web, but there are some other online places too.(see websites below) I find a lot of good buys right on Ebay too.  I will list the four wraps then the bonus recipes for you. - i've added in some
extras too!

Cellulite Body Wrap
What you will need:
8 drops of grapefruit essential oil
2 drops each of essential oils of thyme, fennel, lavender, geranium,
Juniper berry
2 cups (500 ml) almond oil
Cellophane wrap

Mix all of these together -
This is enough for 1 treatment

How to use the wrap:
1. Turn up the heat in the room you do the wrap in.
2. In a plastic squirt bottle, combine the essential oils with the almond
oil, shaking it well.
3. Exfoliate your skin using a loofah, silk mitt, dry brush or, any other
sisal fiber.
4. While standing in the shower or tub, knead the oil mixture generously into
the skin on your arms, legs and torso, avoiding the face and the neck areas.
5. Encase your legs in cellophane beginning at the toes and working up to the
thighs. I have found it easier to apply the cellophane when the whole
cellophane roll is cut in half or thirds to 2-inch (5-cm) widths. Wrap
snugly, but don't cut off your circulation.
6. Wrap your arms, beginning at the hands and moving up to the upper arms.
Complete by wrapping the torso.
7. Relax in a warm room for 20 minutes. Watch TV, but stay warm while you
relax.
8. Remove the cellphone wrap from your body; shower first with warm water and
then cooler water. Then Pat skin dry and you're done!

Herbal Clay wrap:
Ingredients:
1 cup green clay
1/2 cup dried herbs (chamomile, lavender & rose petals)
If you want a more invigorating wrap use: (peppermint & rosemary

1 TBSP of sweet almond oil
10 drops of essential oil (lavender for relaxing blend) (Rosemary for
invigorating blend)
1 cup distilled or spring water
1 unused paint brush (small)
Cotton Gauze or sheet strips

TO USE:
Boil 1 cup of water. Add herbs and steep for 15 minutes. Set Aside
Combine almond oil & essential oils.
Place clay in medium sized bowl and add almond oil mixture. Then add herbal
water (do not strain)
This will form a nice paste.

Bowl 2 cups of water and place in a larger bowl.

If you are doing this yourself, sit in the bathtub, brush on clay mixture
starting with feet & legs, then dip cotton strips in hot water and wrap.
Continue with arms, then torso. You can also use on face, but do not wrap.

After you are all wrapped, place a warm towel on yourself and relax for 20
minutes.

Rinse with tepid water.

PS: If someone is doing this for you, use a plastic sheet on your bed or sofa
to cover.

Here's some ideas if you want to do your own herbal wrap, then some bath

Make your own - Herbal Body Wrap (non clay):
Use 2 cups of any fresh herbs you like:
Here's some ideas:
Simultation use - Pepperment, Rosemary, juniper lemon Peel
Relaxation: Lavendar, Sage, Chamomile, tangerine peel.
Healing properties: Calendula, Eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender
For Aches: Epsom salt(1 cup), with rosemary, lavender or eucaluyptus
Other Ideas for herbs:
Dry skin: Rose, Levender, comfrey, chamile
Normal skin: Rose, levender, lemon balm, calendula
Oily skin: Rosemary, sage witch hazel
Problem skin: Comfrey (frequent acne)

(Note Herbs should be dried out)
Cotton strips or plastic wrap can be used (use an old sheet if you have one)
Large spagetti pot

To Make: Put the herbs in the pot
Then pour in boiling water and cover pot, and let sit for 5 minutes.
Remove as many herbs from the solution using a strainer.
If using cotton strips, put them into the pot to steep for 5 more minutes.
You can use ace bandages, torn up sheets, gause, and sometimes I cover that
with plastic wrap.(optional).

for best results:  exfoliate your skin with a loofah or other bruth for the
skin, then shower before the wrap. Also drink a lot of water before and
during a wrap, it will help flush everything out.
Remove the cotton strips and wring them out. Wrap each one around your body
snugly, and start with your arms, then follow with your legs, torso and your
head. Once you cover the body, use a plastic poncho or plastic type of drop
cloth to put arond your body, then cover up with a few blankets for about 10
minutes. Unwrap slowly. Do not take a shower for at least 5 hours, or more if
you can go that long.

STANDARD Herbal Wrap Recipe:
Here's a second Wrap recipe for you to try as well -

Herbal Body Wrap (Spa Style)  
·       6 cups very hot water 
·       1/2 cup dried chamomile 
·       1/2 cup dried rosemary 
·       1/2 cup dried peppermint 
·       Cheesecloth or wide cotton gauze 
·       Linen or loose-weave cotton gauze
Cut into long strips 4 to 6 inches wide Roll of plastic wrap Bring the
water to a boil, and remove from heat. Place herbs in cheesecloth or gauze,
and put
into water. Cover the infusion to contain the steam and allow to sit for 15-20

SEAWEED BODY WRAP
Supplies you will need:
2 cups (500 ml) clay of your choice
(beauty clay)
1/2 cup (125ml) of Kelp powder
(sold at health food stores).
1/2 cup (125 ml) dulse Powder
Juice from 1 lemon, divided in two
1 cup (250 ml) hot to warm water, divided into 2
Enough gauze to cover your body
(this can be washed and re used if you want)
2 or 3 large beach towels

Instructions on How to Make:

1. In a large bowl, mix together the clay and seaweed powders with a wire
whisk.
2. Place 1/2 the mixture in another bowl, then add the juice of 1/2 lemon and
1/2 cup hot to warm water, mixiing to form a paste (reserve the rest of the
lemon juice and water to add to the rest of the mixture when you need it).

To use:
1. Prepare your skin for the treament fist by dry brushing or exfoliating
with a loofah sponge or other means you like, such as a dry brush to loosen
dead skin.
2. Put the heat on high in the room where you do the wrap, or get a portable
heater to keep warm.
3. Standing in your bathtub or shower, first wet the skin. Then lather the
seaweed mix onto your skin, beginning with your feet.
4.Start to wrap the gauze firmly in an upward directon around the clay
seaweed mixture on your body, beginning at the toes and working up the lets.
Don't cut off the circulation, but keep it snug and comfortable.
t. After you cover both legs, work from your fingers up your arms. When you
run out of the mixture, add the juice and water to the other half of the
recipe you had set aside.
6. Wrap the torso next, then the hair and the neck, avoiding your face.
7. Lie back in the tub, covering yourself with beach towels, and get comfy
for about 20-25 minutes.
8. Then remove the gause, shower with wram water, than cool water and pat dry.

(this is for 1 treament).
BONUS Recipes
THALASOTHERAPY BODY MASK

This is a clay body mask that helps to removed toxins from the skin, leaving
a healthy glow and softness. This is also best done in a warm bath.

What you will need:

1 cup *250 ml) white cosmetic clay
1/2 cup (125 ml) Kelp flakes or powder
1/2 cup (125ml) dulse flakes
1 tablespoon (15 ml) of sea salt
1/2 cup (125 ml) aloe vera gel
1/3 cup (50 ml) water

This is enough for 1 treatment

To make and use:

1. in large bowl, mix together all the dry ingrediants using a wire whisk.
2. Add the aloe vera gel and water to form a paste.

To use:
1. Standing in the bathtub, spread the paste all over your face and body,
working from the tips of the extermities toward the torso.
2. Relax and allow the paste to dry for 20-25 minutes, shower off with warm
water rinsking thoroughly.

Misc. Recipes:

Bathing Sand
What you will need:
2 cups (500 ml) of Borax - dessert salt
1/2 cup (125ml) fine ground sea salt
1/2 cup (125ml) of baking soda (soda ash)
1/4 cup (50ml) white beauty clay
1/2 cup (125ml) herb of your choice but it must be dried
10 drops of essential oil, also of your choice

This should make 3 and 3/4's cups (925ml)

Instructions: In a large bowl, mix together the salts, baking soda and the
clay. Then prepare the dried herb by powdering in a spice mill, or crumble by
hand.
Add the dried herbs to the salt mix and stir with a wire whisk
Add your sent to the mimx, using the essential oil that you chose. Be sure to
use oils that are for external use. Do not overscent it, if you add too much
it will get clumpy and not look good.
Mix everything well with the whisk then cover it with a towel. Let it sit
overnight, so the scent gets in. The next day mix it again and package it up.

When you use it, you will only need 1/4 cup to a 1/2 cup of sand to a tub
full of warm water.

Next: Fine Bath Salts that are great for healing:
This is similar to above's recipe but it has a more courser texture to it.

Here's what you will need:
1 cup (250ml) of borax dessert salt
2 cups (500 ml) of Epsom salts
1/2 cup (125 ml) of course sea salts
1/4 cup (50 ml) of white clay
1/2 cup (125 ml) of the dried herb of your choice, and 10 drops of essential
oil
This will make 4 cups (1 liter)

Instructions to make:
In a large bowl mix the borax, salts and baking soda, and also the clay.
Prepare the dried herb by powdering in a spice mill, or crumble by hand is
fine too., then add the herbs to the salt mix, stirring with a wire whisk.
Scent the mix using the essential oil of your choice. NOTE: make sure the
Essential oil is for external use). Be sure not to put too much in, or it
will make the mix clumpy and unattractive.
After you mix with the wire whisk, cover with a towel, leave overnight to
make the scent sink in. the next day, thoroughly mix it up again, and then
package it.

To use: Add 1/4 cup to a 1/2 cup to the bath!

ADDED Bonus---
Bonus quickie recipes:

Cellulite quick mix:
Mix enough olive oil, Sugar and caffeinated coffee grounds to make a paste.
Apply to thighs and massage in in a circular motion for 5 minutes each leg.
Rinse in the shower.

Note: Caffeine is known to shrink cellulite and is the main ingrediant in
many cellulite creams.

Quick Thigh Slimmer:
Seaweed has been known for its many uses and flushes out toxins.

Apply dried seaweed sheets that have been  rehydrated in water or mix up
crushed seaweed with enough water to make a paste. (I buy the seaweed sheets
at Healthfood stores). Apply mixture to your thighs.

Wrap snugly with plastic wrap.

Apply heat from your blow-dryer for 5 minutes per leg, let cool, and then
remove.
